wow! this time I’m making a jumbo sized mcqueen 😀
I end up with 3 choc cakes all together:
+ two 13×9 inches cakes = the car’s body
+ one 8×8 inches cake = the car’s ‘head’
(I forgot to take a pic of the assembled cake before frosting)
…and a whole lot of frosting!
1 used one normal batch of buttercream (250g of butter) for the filling and crumb coat,
and 1 large batch of buttercream (400g of butter) for the frosting..phew!
carving a big cake is more fun because you’re more in control – the large surface gives you more freedom and carving less stressful (smaller cakes needs more attention with carving – more careful, more delicate 😉 )
here’s the jumbo mcqueen in the making, just got his fresh ‘paint coat’..haha..
